Series Motor value
I'm thinking about buying a new series motor for my 1995 Medalist. I'm trying to get a round about idea what I can sell my used GE motor for. Trying to figure out if I'm better off sending it in for a core or trying to sell it. Core charge is $200. I had my motor apart to change the brushes and bearing, but everything looked great, so I just put it back together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Series Motor value
I'd send it in for core. IDK what you'd be able to get for a 23 year old motor. If you can find someone who really wants a stock motor for a medalist, then great. If it were me, I'd core it.

Re: Series Motor value
personally, I'd do the same.....you would actually be getting more as a core than what you could probably get for it if sold out right.

Re: Series Motor value
The problem is that the company I'm looking at charges $200 for the core, but the most I can get for my core is $160-$165. If it's not perfect, the price goes down. Then there is the shipping costs to send it in, which I'm figuring is around $40. So best case scenario, if I was to get the $165, minus the shipping, I'm at $125. Can I get $150-$175 if I just try to sell it myself? There are 36 volt series motors all over ebay for $299.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/EzGo-36v-36...q7B9:rk:3:pf:0 They may not be getting the full $300, but I'd take half that if I could get it. |

Re: Series Motor value
Shoot, I'd throw it up on Ebay for bid and start it at $175, do $45 shipping and let it go where it goes. Looks like all the other motors are $300.

Re: Series Motor value
I shipped a series motor last year... the lowest price found was right about $100.

Re: Series Motor value
Frank, I think I paid about 65 to ship mine back to emp. That was with emp’s discount, but I don’t know what it would have been normally. Chuck’s wife printed up a ups label through her account and emailed it to me. That was Northern California to Indiana. Obviously, the best bet would be if you had a local buyer for your motor.
