EZGO RXV, 2010, cuts speed, stops

Please help! Our EZGO electric cart is dealing us fits! We put new batteries in about 14 months ago. We only use it for golf. We can go about 7-8 holes with no problem. Then, as you are driving, the cart will cut speed to about half, and then completely stop. If you turn the key off at every stop, it seems to delay this problem, and once the problem starts, if you turn the key off and let it sit for a bit, it will go again. But, once it starts, it shuts down more quickly each time.
Please feel free to ask, and I will try to answer. We may end up taking it to a local dealer, but thought we'd see if there was a simple fix first!

Sounds like low voltage cutback to me. Does your cart have the factory gas gauge? Do you have a volt meter you can use to measure batteries.

Gas gauge? It's electric. I believe my husband has checked the volts, but I will ask him.

Ok, sorry about the confusion. It's a round gauge, with a needle, and circles to signify empty, half, and full. Looks just like a gas gauge in a car.
