Cart at a rally
Has anyone used their 36 volt golf cart at a rally all day and night?
Did it make it? How often did you have too charge? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Cart at a rally
I haven't been to a rally, but have used it off and on all day and well into the next morning. I always try and charge any time I'm not moving. Obviously not every place has power, but you could carry your charger if you don't have an onboard charger.

It’s at a primitive site . So it’s a generator that I will be using . I know it’s subjective. I know that at a rally it’s stop and go all day and into the night. I rented a gas cart the last time so I know I was on it all day and till about 2am riding the trails etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Plug it in every chance you get. This is called opportunity charging. The idea is to keep the voltage up where the operation is more efficient meaning less amperage used per mile or whatever it's doing.
Generally speaking a full charge renders about 100 minutes of actual depressed pedal time. |

Re: Cart at a rally
Do you have a Honda generator? Anything else is often too loud. If the rally is loud, then just charge it anytime you aren't moving.

Re: Cart at a rally
What kind of a rally is this? I think 100 minutes at 15 MPH = 25 miles.

Re: Cart at a rally
What kind of rally and how many miles does the cart have to travel?
How many times does the cart stay stationary and for how long? When my batteries were new and fully broken in, I could get over 35 miles on a single charge without dropping below 50% SoC. I never tried it, but with a generator that'd fit in the bagwell and an on-board charger I suspect I could double that distance with a few rest stops along the route. Of course, I intentionally built my cart for exceptionally long range. |

Re: Cart at a rally
Sorry about that, I got sidetracked with a phone call from an old friend and wasn't ready to hit Send before I got tied up for over an hour catching up on what has been happening in our lives. When I got back, I finished the sentence I was typing when interrupted and sent it without checking for new post in the thread.
