You don't have a pre-charge resistor on that solenoid do you?

I don’t think so- it’s a sepex drive. I’ll check when I get back to it.

No pre-charge resistor.

The easiest way to eliminate the Motor as being the cause of the low pre-charge voltage is to disconnect the cable from controller B+ to the Motor.

If the Voltage goes up on Controller B+, the motor (or its cable routing) is the cause.

Yes- when I do that the voltage goes up about 2 volts and the noise stops.

If I disconnect either the A1 or the A2 terminal on the motor the noise also stops. There is zero resistance between those two terminals on the motor. The cables are 4 gauge and in perfect shape.

Is there any resistance between A1/A2 and F1/F2?

The field winding is kept at a different voltage level and will interfere with the Armature if there is a path.

Also check between any of the posts and the Motor case.

Maybe you're forgetting (happens to me all the time) but If I remember right, wasnt there something weird going on inside the motor when you got that cart? I dont recall exactly what it was, but might be worth pulling the motor again and double checking

A tiny cable with two wires going from one of the brushes to the motor case near the field coils was cut. Always has been. Don’t know what it was for.

Did you also check between the Armature and the Field posts?
