You got the wrong cable. It can be made to work but you will have to re-configure your batteries to do so. Including the wire to B- on the controller.

I would suggest you get the right cable and do it by the photo/diagram.

From the looks of it Crash, I think he will have to do that at the other side of the cart. It won't reach.

leave it on passenger side of your cart
my last photo is with it loose on passenger side
there in no danger doing this

for drivers side you will need to buy a SB50 with 5 ft of cables

You could definitely connect it and leave it hanging on the passenger side like CTD said. If you want to put it back in the original mounting location, you can buy another plug and solder in new longer positive cable. From the pic you posted, it looks like the negative cable will be long enough.

Just stick a small screwdriver into the end of the plug you have right now (when it's not connected to the battery of course) and pull out the positive wire. Solder the new wire into the connector and pop it back into the plug. Watch this video and you'll understand a little better, I hope. Good luck

Okay guys...I’ve got this...thanks for ALL the help! I DID NOT blow anything up! LOL!
Apparently they DO NOT make this SB50 w/5’ cables. I don’t want to re-configure my batteries. I will connect it according to “CTD” recommendation, or try to find someone that can make me a 5’ cable set up and go back to original.
Thank ALL of you for helping with this... this is why I LOVE THIS FORUM!
You guys ROCK!

FWIW: The charging cables don't need to be the same gauge as the high current cables. Charging current will likely be 20A or less, so 10Ga will be okay and 8Ga for overkill.

Also, check out what 70’s posted. The sb50 connector is just that, a connector. You can attach whatever length cable/wire you want to it. There are metal lugs inside there that snap in, but are removable. Typically you purchase the connector without any wires connected to it. It just comes with the lugs. The amp designation of the specific connector you get dictates what size wire the internal lugs will accept. 8-10g wire is typical for the charge port wires.
