Need advice on my elderly neighbor's TXT.
My neighbor has a 97 TXT 36 volt cart that has been lifted and has an AllTrax AXE 4844 controller and 400 amp solenoid. He charged it and drove about 400 yards, cut off the ignition, did not take it out of Forward and talked with a neighbor for 10-15 minutes. He got back in it and turned on the ignition switch and noticed the state of charge meter was not working (it had been previously). he hit the accelerator and nothing happened - no movement, no solenoid clicking - nothing.
He pulled it back to his shop and called me. I did the following: 1) checked the voltage of the pack - 38.6 2) checked voltage to the battery side of the solenoid - 38.6 3) checked voltage of the controller side of the solenoid - 36.8 volts Per Scotty's instructions on troubleshooting, these numbers appear to be OK. I need some help on what to do next. Both the state of charge meter and the LED on the controller are not lit and were lit when it was running right. The solenoid doesn't click but appears to be getting the correct voltage. I did tighten the F/R switch but it did nothing for the problem. Thanks in advance for all your help. |

Re: Need advice on my elderly neighbor's TXT.
Take a 6g cable and jump the large terminals of the solenoid, then try the cart. If the cart works, it has a bad solenoid.

That doesnt explain why the SOC meter doesnt work. I would be looking at the keyswitch & microswitches @ F&R.

Reed switch.
Suspect the SoC meter is fed from the switched leg of the keyswitch, which is fed by the reed switch, via MS-2 on F/R assembly. |
