Question GEM Cart 72volt - Adding 12v Battery to make 84v

I have a 2005 GEM Cart 72v.. Has a GE solid state controller and a 5.0hp GE motor.

Think I could add 1 - 12volt battery to the pack making 84 volts?

I know the motor would be in question .. But supposedly the controller has over voltage protection
