Default Are These Good Batteries

You guys have helped me a lot before - so thanks again.

I'm upgrading for the wife - getting rid of a older 36v I've managed to keep running. I found a newer 48v RXV with 1 year old batteries - confirmed with receipt. But I never heard of them before (I"m in Hawaii, and a dealer replaced these)

They are "U.S. Battery." Anybody have an opinion on this brand? Here's a pic.

I have the same US Batteries 4x12 in my RXV. These work good for me. Use the cart everyday on the ranch. Buy a DPI charger, best thing you can do for your batteries.

Thanks for the feedback - sounds acceptable. Is this charger - that comes with it - bad???

As long as I'm posting - anyone care to throw out a number on the worth of this 2010 RXV with heavy rear springs, and extra set of new spare tires. I'll probably add 20% for the cost in Hawaii. These batteries (because of their weight I guess) are really expensive over here.

Anything in HI is way expensive because of shipping. US Battery is a top tier battery. The stock charger is lame tho. Highest failure rate of any OEM charger i have seen. Sell the charger while it still works & get a better charger for your own cart. Since you have a RXV, heres a few tips- Never ever turn the key off while its moving, even moving walking speed (it will cause the motor brake to lock while its moving). Never jam the brake pedal far enough to cause the wheels to lock up (unless its really an emergency stop, once again, motor brake lock while in motion). Best to tap the brake a time or 2 to let the cart slow down, you will see what i mean after a few drives. Keep the battery area really clean, neutralizing any acid residue on the battery tops with baking soda/water mix followed by water rinse (they can get acid in the harness at the front of the battery pack & right rear corner of battery pack in the harness). Keep the batteries clean and never filled above the collar that extends down into the cells. Never tow or force it to move without unlocking brake first (switch under seat in "TOW", key in "N" position). The Rxv is mistreated often by those who treat it "just like my last cart", its a whole different design idea. It has a lot of fail-safe stuff built in to protect you & itself. Best points are- loses little speed on hills, never rolls away if you dont set Park brake, has positraction from the factory, has great range per charge, very long lasting motor (no brushes), good efficiency at all speeds, braking puts most all energy back into batteries for re-use.

Thanks for all that advice "cg." I was replacing this for the wife's ride because of the auto-brake and re-gen features - we live in a hilly location. I had one before, so I know what you are speaking of.

However, the one I had before rusted out, even though it was fairly new. I didn't know to look over things so closely then. So the tips on the battery area are very useful and welcome.

No price estimates for me??? :)

I can get a 2012 rxv in great condition with 2014 batteries for $2350 so somewhere around the $2500 margin with new batteries maybe
