Alltrax AXE code 3
Have a 82 Marathon with Scotty B's upgrade kit with an Alltras AXE controller. "48v"
Off loaded from trailer and topped off batteries with distilled water. Went to put cart into garage and only click Alltrax AXE one green light then 3 reds stumped  |

3 red - the trouble is in the throttle signal. remove the potentiometer wires from the controller pins #2&3. Set the multi-meter to ohms Ω and a range of 0-20,000. work the pedal up and down. the reading should be 0-5000 more or less.

Potentiometer 56-1288 ohms then meter goes to OL
Weird it would go bad without warning |

So after work today I just give it a whirl and it works. So now After what you said about a wet potentionemeter giving a false reading could have caused the issue. It wasn't that much water just a sprinkling, but water and electronics do not mix.
After tonight I will know if it is OK |

Sounds like you are on to something - the wife's hairdryer will work wonders on a wet potentiometer... until she catches on
