Re: rear differential info?
I have the same rear. I'm not sure what it is yet either. The info I found so far is that the motor I have 5BC48JB815 was used only from mid 86 through 1987. I'm going to order a manual that covers that model. Hard to tell from your picture does that rear have manual adjustment brakes?

Re: rear differential info?
Manual adjust brakes use the J10 pads, if you look at the back of the backing plate (on the leaf spring side of the hub assembly) and you see a threaded post that is the adjuster. The self adjusters have a star wheel where the brake cable attaches. (remove the drum to see) What I think I know about the rear axle you have is that it is a 3/4" straight keyed shaft motor, the input gear slides over the shaft it is not compatible to any of the common motor upgrades that use the 19 spline axles. Motors can be purchased for this axle but seem to run higher in cost.

Re: rear differential info?
I ended up ordering the manual for the 86 1/2 - 87 model year. It's on back order so I don't expect I can give you any information for a couple of weeks on your unit. Check back on this thread in February if you haven't gotten the info you need by then. Did you get a chance to determine what brakes are on that cart?

Re: rear differential info?
Thanks for checking, I wasn't sure what brakes came standard in that build time. I knew I had a swapped out rear unit in my cart, but wasn't sure how many things had gotten changed.

Re: rear differential info?
I got my manual today. It shows the breakdown of the rear. What do you need to know?
