93 Club Car DS batteries
I have a 93 DS that I just bought. It has been sitting in a garage for years. Batteries are completely shot. Question is this... Can I use 3 12volt deep cylce batteries to test run cart? I'm not sure if I can just place 1 12volt where 2 6volts was and attach cables. I know automotive but not much on carts. I know that I will still run + to -, but will this work for testing and not damage anything? I do not want to buy batteries if the cart has other issues.

Re: 93 Club Car DS batteries
Yes, you can do that to test and see if the cart will run and for diagnosis.
Just don't plan on going very far on automotive or marine batteries. |

And when you get it hooked up, test your charger out too!

Re: 93 Club Car DS batteries
I'm getting about 10 miles on city streets around my house. Very hilly area. I do get very slow when climbing up my driveway which is about 1000 feet long and pretty steep. I'm honestly wondering if I should invest in golf cart batteries and maybe even upgrade the speed controller to get rid of the coil resistor. Or just keep my money and let my 10yr old son enjoy the cart as is?

All in what you want to spend. But first, buy the batteries, you have to do that anyway.

Re: 93 Club Car DS batteries
That steep driveway makes deep amperage demands - which is what marine batteries will struggle to deliver. With a steep driveway like that, the batteries (and possibly change out to larger gauge cables throughout) - are the first order of business for your cart.
