Re: 2004 Club Car Precedent - Recs and Advice for a Newb
I use a 19mm on the lugs. I don’t remember what the SAE equivalent is

3/4" works. That's what I had but apparently it was worn down, odd. Bought a new one this afternoon and got the tires off.

I got everything torn apart and the bushings replaced and back together. There were a few spots where the bushings were absolutely gone. You can see the little pile in the floor of what was remaining total of all of the them. Very glad I was forced to do this!
Anything else I should look into or do in the front suspension while I've got everything open and accessible? |

Grease the spindles, check inner and outer tie rod ends for any play

And check your center-to-center for your steering wheel. (From the middle, turn it all the way to the left counting the turns, then return it to center and do the same thing going to the right. If the turns are ~the same, good, but if not, time to adjust to center it up evenly)

I did grease the spindles while I was in there before I put it back together.
For the center-to-center it seems close, maybe around a quarter turn longer on one side. Is that "close enough" or should I adjust to get them closer? |

Re: 2004 Club Car Precedent - Recs and Advice for a Newb
Good point(s) guys.
Got everything straitened out and got the cart put back together tonight. Feels good to be able to ride again and feels good to have fixed the problem! No more knocking in the front end and the toeage is perfect. Now on to some actual fun projects! Thanks to all for the assistance thus far! This is really a great community. |
