Hi JohnnieB -

I’ve been out of town but finally managed to get to the pedal box switch. So I get full voltage to green wire but not getting any voltage on the red, white and black wires. Also, when I press the gas the voltage on the green wire does not change.

Regarding the solenoid tabs (two small posts), I am not getting any voltage.

Would the above indicate the issue is the pedal switch?

Sounds like the voltage on the green wire is not getting through the pedal switch. Most likely a bad switch.

Solenoid coil and controller power up wire are both downstream from the pedal switch, so the other readings are as expected.

Ok, I’m going to get a new pedal switch and hope that works. I’ll let you know! Thanks again for your help.

Hi JohnnieB -

Today I received the pedal switch which I replaced with the old one. Now I can hear the solenoid activate and controller light turn on, but unfortunately it still does not move.

Also, I tested for voltage on the solenoid tabs and I have no voltage. I don’t think it matters but I do have voltage on the high current terminals.

I suppose I’m making progress now the solenoid clicks, but Do you happen to have any ideas on what the issue is?

I just noticed I misworded the above description. I replaced the old pedal switch with the new pedal switch. Really stumped on this. Would appreciate any help in troubleshooting. Thanks

Also, when I press on the pedal, I do get voltage to the small solenoid terminals.

If the solenoid is clicking, the problem is in the high current circuit.

With cart on jackstands, connect DVM between the controller's B- and M- terminals. Press pedal just far enough to make solenoid click and you ought to read full battery pack voltage.

If you don't you have an open somewhere between the M- terminal and the main positive terminal on the battery pack.

Not sure if I am using DVM correctly, but I put the neg probe on B- and pos probe on M-. I get around 25v before pressing pedal. It drops down to about 20v when solenoid clicks.

You've got the test probes connected right.

What is the battery pack voltage at the battery pack main positive and negative terminals. If it is only about 25V, no wonder the cart wont move.

If it is in the 38.2V neighborhood, you've got some mighty bad cables and/or connections in the high current circuit.

I’ve got 53v at main batt pack.
