Default 2008 PDS Alltrax 400 XCT test run

Got a chance to get my new Alltrax controller wired up this weekend .The kit came from Carts Unlimited and it had everything to turn this cart into a Beast the cart is lifted ,22" tires and rear seat so with all the extra weight I couldn't believe what a difference it made. The settings on the controller ,turbo and street mod turned on and man is it fast and ton of torque. Im running a new sepex stock motor so not sure how its going to handle the 400 amps.Im thinking of adding a function control box so it can be toned down for the wife and kids.Anyone know what settings to change to make the reverse not so sensitive when the pedal is pressed about 2 " down it takes off fast

There is a reduced reverse feature which is 50% of the forward speed setting by default. Set this down to 25% and see how that works.

If the pedal is too touchy, decreasing the Throttle Rate percentage will help.

In addition altering the Throttle Linearization curve so the first portion of the pedal travel has less change than the last portion.

I've got my throttle set so the controller output is only 30% when pedal is pushed halfway down. That gives me better control for maneuvering in tight places.

Glad to hear you like it Outlaw. I added the three position personality switch on mine and it truly is a great thing to add (Daddy Bear, Mamma Bear and Baby Bear modes). The cart normally lives in Mamma Bear mode and it's OK if the kids drive it that way, but I prefer them in Baby Bear mode. But... The other day I left it in Daddy Bear mode and came home from the hardware store and my daughter had taken the cart out for a spin... I was on pins and needles until she got back!

As soon as she got back I set it to Mamma Bear mode again.

Trust me, it is worth the cost of the switch to know your kids are OK if you turn your back.

Alltrax now makes a lockable 3 mode switch for those that do not want to make their own.

Today I decreased the Throttle Rate percentage from 50 to 25% that helped maybe this weekend I can get the laptop connected and use JohnnieB's Throttle Linearization curve settings .The lockable switch sounds like a great ideal just as long the key doesn't get misplaced.

You pre-program the range (min and max) for each mode.

If You have a "kids mode" that you don't want to be adjusted, you just make the min and max value the same so the Regen knob has no effect.

Also, the "Regen" label in the knob is a misnomer since it controls: Regen, speed and throttle rate.

Again, You can set the "speed range" on a particular mode to a single value (min and max the save value) so that function is not affected by the knob adjustment.
