Default 1996 club car ds mcor removal

I have it all apart and don’t see how to remove it. Does the shaft come out somehow. It looks like it should come out through the gas pedal but it won’t budge

Are you certain that is an MCOR. If so, it was an add-on as they weren't around yet in '96. There were Pot-Box and VSP's (V-glide)

Can you post a pic?

A 1996 doesn't have an MCOR. It has a PotBox. You've gotta pull the pivot rod out of it entirely before you can remove it.

It just pulls out towards the passenger side?

Take the 9/16" nut off of the end of the rod next to the brake pawl. Then in theory it will "slide" out, but more often than not it's not going to be an easy process. We use an air hammer to knock them out. They get seized up in the pedal and within the accelerator bearing and bracket assembly.

Ok I did that, it just won’t slide out. Can you still order those pot boxes?

Unfortunately not. They were discontinued years ago. Someone found a few on surplus a while back but I have not seen or heard of any since. If it is bad, you will have to do a Pre-MCOR Conversion on yours. https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...conversion-kit

Does cleaning them ever fix the problem?

The problem is the cart is really slow with hardly any torque. Does this sound like the pot box?

There are a lot of things that play into that...voltage, battery condition, output signal to the controller, etc.
