Default Electric EZgo new batteries charge level indicator says 75% when charger disconnected

Brand new batteries charge level indicator says 99.9 % when charging, when charger turns off and is unplugged level indicated 75%...why. Also has trouble with hills.

The on-charge voltage near the end of the charge cycle should be greater than the 100% SoC voltage, so what the"charge level indicator" indicates while on charge is more or less meaningless.

The at-rest voltage is what is used to estimate the SoC (State off Charge) estimate is for the battery pack and is read about 12 hours after charger shuts off.

Bar-graph type battery level meters are notoriously inaccurate. To get a good SoC estimate, measure the battery pack voltage with a DVM and look the SoC up on a chart.

What Make/Model batteries?
What Make/Model charger?
What model year and drive system does the cart have?

How are you determining battery %.
What is pack voltage 12 hours after full charge without being used.
Same for each batteries voltage. Hydrometer reading of each cell also helps.
Make of batteries and charger used.
This info will help forum help troubleshoot problem 😊

What kind of cart? What year? 36 Volt? 48 Volt? Gauge style? Sorta like a gas tank fuel gauge?

IF IT IS AN EZGO RXV....

It may actually report what the controller thinks the charge is vs. the real state of the batteries.

Your post indicated brand new batteries? I’m assuming they replaced worn out batteries?

If so, it will take about 5 or 6 discharge / charge cycles for the SOC Gauge to start reading accurately.
