2010 TXT Input Shaft & Coupler Worn - Grinding
I have a 2010 EZ-GO TXT Fleet 48V. Bought it used a few years ago and it has been problem free. The previous owner had installed a ALLTRAX DCX500 controller. The motor is stock.
Yesterday as I was accelerating from a stop, I heard a sharp pop and then no movement and a loud grinding noise from engine area. Same grinding noise in both forward and reverse. Removed both rear hub caps: no spinning of axle nuts with motor running so hub splines appear OK. Removed engine and found severe wear on input shaft and motor coupler (see attached pix). What are my options? Can the motor coupler be replaced or will I need a complete new motor? The worn input shaft replacement seems pretty straight forward from what I have read here on this forum. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you! |
