Default Noise from when you let off the go pedal

2002 36 volt ez-go txt that makes a rattling noise in the back when you let off of the accelerator and coast this cart has no tow switch and forward and reverse switch is below the seat ..Could this be an output shaft bearing going south!! The cart is very quiet when driving no noise .. thanks..

The motor coupler is getting worn and causing free play especially when coasting. It's more an annoying noise than an "OMG it's gonna self destruct any second!" kind of thing.

Some folks around where I work are anal about their golf car being as silent as their Cadillac. Can't satisfy everyone!

Agreed - It could run for a long time like this if the oil condition & level is good. Maybe toss in some STP or go ahead and change the input shaft and bearings and then put new oil in it.
