Default Has anyone had any experience, +or- with Jake’s wheelbase extension kit on a stock DS

Just installed the Ameri-torq disc brakes (which I do recommend), which demanded 1.5” wheel spacers to work with my 10” rims and 205/50s on my stock suspension DS. While ordering new dual action leaf springs, I noticed the Jake’s wheelbase extension kit. The wheel spacers did cause my front tires to rub when I have the steering wheel cranked all the way.

Does anyone have experience with the wheelbase extension kit on a DS with otherwise stock suspension? Does it allow the wheels to turn at as sharp an angle as stock? Anything to look out for on the install?

No direct experience with those but the install looks like a 4 out of 10 on a DIY scale. It will require drilling 2 holes. Install video shows them cutting the original lower shock mount studs off the control arms, but I’m not totally sure that’s necessary.

It should certainly fix your rubbing issue. For the install you flip the control arms over, and the new spring mount plate moves the spring forward 2”. This retains the original suspension geometry, just moves the wheels further forward.

I bought one from P+Carts for my old DS a few months ago.
I pulled the front cowl and tires/hubs to get going and watched the video a couple of times. They told me it would fit with a GTW lift (it does not).

The install does not look that bad if you have the tools to cut the shock mounts off, and a proper drill bit to make a bolt hole. They provide new ones in the kit.

That said... they will not allow me to return it, so I guess I should put the new kit on fleabay to sell it. If anyone needs it, please let me know.
