Re: Alltrax XTC Controller Help
It appears as if you have shorted out the solenoid connections. You have the two wires connected across from each other, they should be on top of each other. I'll try and find a picture in case my explanations isn't clear.
Here is the picture of how it should be connected |

The picture you posted shows the diode in the side of the solenoid but the diode has post connectors. This was installed as per Scottys Bs directions that came with the controller. FYI, the batt pack is fine. Fully charged, all batteries have the correct voltage and the pack is also correct. Not sure why I am getting the two red flashes from the controller suggesting otherwise. Re: Alltrax XTC Controller Help
The small solenoid spade terminals are marked + and - as I explained in the emails the light blue wire is + and the blue with white stripe wire is -. This is shown on the installation diagram on page 18 of the owners/operators manual as well as on my installation sheet which accompanied the controller.
The way it is shown in the picturecreates a dead short whenever the pedal is depressed. The cart is surfing forward on the pre-charge current only. See attached. |

Re: Alltrax XTC Controller Help
Lol, clearly. My solenoid was hooked up the way that Alltrax customer service told me too. I moved the blue strip wire up next to the light blue wire as Scotty suggested and it seems to work now. Sounds like the solenoid is clicking though.

Re: Alltrax XTC Controller Help
From now on I will believe it when Alltrax says they got reverse voltage protection.

Re: Alltrax XTC Controller Help
Yeah but, what about the solenoid coil
Years ago a guy connect the main + to one side of the MZJ400 solenoid and the main - to the other side. When he stepped on the gas there was an explosion under the seat as the solenoid blew the bridge through the top. The Alltrax was unharmed. More than I can say for his shorts |
