Default Ezgo PDS runs a few feet

Looking at a PDS for my friend that died on him. It will move about a foot or two then stop. Batteries are at 38.3 volts and all connections good. On jack stands I can put a finger on the solenoid and feel it engage then feel it drop out after a few seconds and obviously the tires stop spinning. When it drops out its not as solid of a clunk as when it engages. Is this pretty much a guaranteed bad solenoid or do I need to keep looking?

I’m thinking that’s indication of a good solenoid but the signal TO the solenoid is being dropped... probably a controller issue

Put it on jacks and let it do it's thing. Have a helper (brick) hold the pedal down after the solenoid drops out and see if there is 36v between the 2 small posts on the solenoid. IF yes and no solenoid engagement it is a bad solenoid. If no - look elsewhere for the problem

Ok so when the solenoid dropped out it went to 0 volts between the small terminals. So controller or ITS?

This is the one these guys gave me.... might be the same for yours

Might help you test the micro switch without pulling up the floor mat

And thank you for the diagram. Checked the pedal switch at the controller and it goes to 0 ohms with pedal down so it appears ok.
