What belt still spins? Is the motor still running or the starter just turning it over?

Not a whole lot of info to go on , how many plugs does it have?
Did you check for spark when you looked at the plug? Choke it when it shut off? Can you do any more troubleshooting? |

I believe it has one spark plug, since thats all we took out. We Didnt look for spark ( not too good with this stuff. Thought you werent supposed to run anything without spark plugs). Choking it when you shut off, never thought that was possible.

Re: 1994 Cart "Quits", SPark plugs good, Put Carb Cleaner in Gas
When it stops running you need to determine the cause. Is it because of no fire or spark at the plug or no gas from the carb.
I would lean more in the direction that you are loosing spark so the first thing to do is carry a spare plug with you. We Didnt look for spark ( not too good with this stuff. Thought you werent supposed to run anything without spark plugs). When the cart stops running raise the seat and remove the plug wire from the spark plug, install it on the spare plug and lay the plug on the motor so that the base of the plug is touching (grounded) a metal part of the motor. Step on the pedal and look for spark. It will be a small yellow spark and sometimes hard to see in daylight. Choking it when you shut off, never thought that was possible. When I asked about choking it I was asking if you tried to choke it after it stopped running, not when YOU turn it off. If you try choking a motor when it dies sometimes it will draw fuel past a problem enough to restart and give a clue that it is fuel related. Check these options and let us know. Mitch |
