Re: Should I buy this Club Car?
Maybe it's just the picture, but isn't that all deep pitting from rust on the drivers side axle housing painted over, and the frame looks like it is deeply pitted also. I would really wonder if that thing spent some time under water. Salt water. Salt is a destroyer of aluminum.
I would pass without hesitation. |

I bought a set of those Continental batteries - not a fan, always seem to be oozing fluid out of the caps.

Re: Should I buy this Club Car?
The front roof struts are indeed tweaked, to the right. The heaviest pitting is on the left side axle tube and left side frame and the left side headlight was absolutely submerged at some point.
I would be willing to bet money that not only was this thing flooded, it was laying on its left side while partially submerged. I would also bet from the shape of things under the seat, as someone already mentioned, after swapping out the batteries , the original cables just got "cleaned up" and put back in place. I will 2nd the motion to run away and not look back. There's another Club Car out there for you somewhere, you just haven't found it quite yet. |

Re: Should I buy this Club Car?
Update to the thread. I indeed passed on the cart and withdrew my initial offer of $2000.
I'm now moving on and started chatting with a guy I know through a friend who is selling a Club Car IQ cart with an Advanced Speedie motor, AllTrax 500 amp controller, fully upgraded "under the hood" and some nice bells and whistles along with the new batteries. I've offered him $4000, which is well under his ask, but I think if I keep playing nice he might give in before prices spike for the summer and I can flip my EZGO for an inexpensive upgrade. |

Re: Should I buy this Club Car?
Sounds like a wise move. I really enjoy my iq. Much more than I thought I would since I’ve never been much of a “sparky” guy. It’s stock other than just a speed magnet and I really don’t need anything more out of it performance wise. We were doing donuts in my culdesac for a good while today
Lithium will be a welcome addition once it’s a bit warmer. Just be patient, the right one will come along. |
