club cart charger issues
I'm having some problems with my ERIC charger. When I plug it into a receptacle the blue light comes on but after a few seconds of plugging it into the cart the red triangle light comes on and stays solid. Can anyone give me some advice on what could be wrong.

Re: club cart charger issues
Use a voltmeter to verify there is 48V at the two bottom pins in the charge receptacle on the cart. If the voltage is below about 35v the charger will not recognize the pack. Check the pack voltage at the main + and - on the pack. Charge the batteries individually with a 12v charger to bring up the voltage if they are low. If pack voltage is fine, but the voltage at the receptacle is low there is a wire problem or poor connection.
If you have correct voltage at the receptacle, Remove the cover over the wire connections where the DC cord goes into the charger. Plug the DC charge cord into the cart. Verify you get the same as pack voltage at the terminals on the charger. If so, the charger has failed and needs to be replaced. |

Re: club cart charger issues
I checked the two bottom pins, one pin is just about 40 but the other pin is only reading eight.

Checked it with a volt meter. I grounded it then checked each pin.

Re: club cart charger issues
Just stick the probes in the two lower pins.
The upper pin is the interlock pin for the controller and doesn't affect the charger working or not. If you have 48v reaching the terminals on the charger, and it doesn't turn on and start a charge cycle, the charger is bad. |
