Controller Help
Having performance issues with 36V 2005 ezgo. Trying to get specifics on controller because I think a lift and larger tires could be affecting performance.
Here are the numbers on the controller: Type - Curtis PMC P/N - 25864G09 S/N - 5260-P095983L The solenoid says 36V. Both are visually in excellent shape, so they may have been replaced at some point. I posted earlier that the tires were 24", but they are actually 22-8.5-10. Any advice on controller/solenoid types and where to find the best price? Also - Should batts make slight boiling noise during charging? |

Re: Controller Help
Is it a series cart or PDS? Battery boiling during charging is normal. If your cart is lifted, it is a MUST that you have upgraded 4 gauge cables everywhere You have a 2005, have the batteries been replaced, or are they original?

Re: Controller Help
Thanks for the info on the "boiling". I upgraded to the 4ga cables, but that didn't help the performance. I'm thinkin it's a battery problem because the charger "hangs up" at 8-10 amps after it's been on for several hours. Immediately following charging, performance is pretty good, but after light riding for 5-10 minutes it falls off noticeably. They appear to be the stock batts and as far as I can tell I have a series cart.
I was hoping to get some info on the controller so I would know what I had. I found that P/N on the internet and it references a 300 and a 350 amp. |

Re: Controller Help
Definately a battery problem. That controller does not ring a bell to me, though...

Re: Controller Help
Thanks again guys.
One last question - Is the 350 amp controller enough or should I upgrade? I'm not looking for a high performance cart, just something for the wife to get around the farm with. I will do some troubleshooting to ID the bad battery(ies). |

Re: Controller Help
I'm wondering how a 350 amp controller got put into your 2005 cart! Someone has added it along the line somewhere - that's not what originally came in it...

Re: Controller Help
Look on the posts of your batts, there should be a letter with a number following it, the letter will represent the month and the number represents the year, that way it will tell you how old the batts are

Re: Controller Help
That's exactly the same controller I have in my '05 TXT series cart. I bought it from a dealer in KY. It came from a golf course. Why would they upgrade them?
