My original Curtis 1206 controller in my '97 Series cart would do this years ago. At the time, no one could tell me what it was, so if I was rolling backwards out of an inclined driveway I always made sure the cart was in reverse. If it was in forward it would almost snap your head clean off when it kicked in. It stopped doing it when I upgraded to the Alltrax unit.
