Default ugrage 36v to 48v motor and controller first

Sorry for the dumb questions guys I am new to carting anyway i have a 2009 EZGO 36volt PDS and am not real happy with performance. I have been looking around and see i have alot of options for upgrades. most say upgrade to 48volts and that is something i want to do but my 6v battery are only a year old so i want too use them up first. so can someone recomened a controller and motor that will work when i do upgrade the batts to 48volt? Not even sure this can be done. If i am reading right the Alltrex 500 amp controller works with both 36v and 48v just not sure about the motors. If i cant get a new motor that works with both will my stock motor work with the 500 amp controller. I know i need to upgrade wiring. thanks for your input

no need to change the motor. in fact some some original 48 carts are switched to a 36 motor. you just need a 400-500 amp controller that will handle 48 and a 48 vollt h.d. solenoid. also a h.d. front rear switch, al though i am not sure if you need this on a pds cart. min. 4 ga. wires tho.

most will tell you do not add new batts to an old pack, but i also had a majortity of one year old batts and just added the new ones i needed. so far so good. it may bite me in the *** next year , but just could not justify throwing my one year olds away.. we will see.
