Battery cable question
I am going to upgrade all my battery cables on my 1990 exgo marathon and was wondering what I should do. The old ones are the standard #6 guage, and everything I have rad said to use #4 guage, but I can get heavier #2 guage for the same price....should I go with the #2? or just move up to the next size #4?
thanx |

Re: Battery cable question
Not all cables are equal. Do your homework. Most 2G kits are custom made so are the ends soldered is one thing to look for also is it made from Welding cable and what is the strand count.

Re: Battery cable question
here is what the ad for the cables say:
- These cables are made with very fine copper wire & insulated with synthetic rubber. - It’s called Welding Cable but works better than Battery Cable for Electric Vehicles. should I look for solder, or crimped connections? |

Re: Battery cable question
In 4g cable you are looking for 400+ strand count. Scottyb will verify his, will the other vendor?

Re: Battery cable question
Best of all, they are on sale now. Buy them online and get free shipping too Go 2g on the cart and never doubt you have enough amperage handling capacity.
I see crimped cables close or above the price of my Silver Soldered Cable sets. |

Re: Battery cable question
Free shipping for cables sets is for internet purchases only....using the buy-it-now button, not phone call orders, and certainly not 3 calls a day
