Re: All Lights Green
If you get the front wheels pointed in the same direction you might get more run time out of it.

Re: All Lights Green
What do you mean by that Crash?
And Gornoman, We had ran the golf cart like this for about 6 Years. Never had any Problems with that setup so I think we are good for a few more Years. I will let you know the Kind of Charger on Friday. Matt |

Re: All Lights Green
The reason why I cant Get reverse is the Contacts on the left side of the F&R switch are not aligned properly. Is that a Big Deal? Do you think it could Hurt the Cart in any way?
That is the Only Thing wrong with the Cart. If I hook Up Forward or Reverse to the Working (Right) Side of the solenoid they Both work Fine. Therefore the cart IS Bulletproof but just needs some Contacts aligned. That's all there is to it. That's the Only thing wrong with the Cart but as of Right Now its not an Emergency. Thanks, Matt. |

Re: All Lights Green
Congratulations Matt. You've put together a utilitarian vehicle out of the parts you had available and it appears to be doing what you want it to do.
I wish there were more young people with your tenacity and ability to think outside the box, in the pipeline to fill the slots in the American workforce that have been vacated and will be vacated by those of us that have retired, or will be retiring in the foreseeable future. ----------- I think crash's comment about the front wheels not pointing in the same direction was referring to the way they look in a couple of the pictures. Either they have Toe-Out rather than Toe-in, or the picture was taken up close with a wide angle lens and it only appears to be that way. Personally, I find it interesting that the tractor lug tread on the left and right rear tires point in opposite directions. That might make it pull to the left in mud. ------------- I also think that many of us, myself included, overlooked the fact that reducing the number of cells in the battery pack primarily reduces the top speed. The cells are smaller in an 8V battery, so the max current draw and run-time is also reduced, but the net results will be more like not pushing the pedal all the way down rather than having a discharged 36V battery pack. -------- Looking forward to hearing about how fast and how far it goes. |

Re: All Lights Green
You would think I would Give up it after 2 Years....Nope. For the Last few years we had a problem, It would only go about 2MPH in Forward and Reverse. Now that I have Rewired it it Runs Perfect. Maybe there was a wire in the Wrong Spot, Not Anymore. I would say it Goes its Normal Speed when it was setup to 36V in the Past. If not that then Pretty Close. It still has the same amount of Hill Climbing Power because I can still make it up all the Hills I Used to at a Reasonable Speed. A few years ago My Uncle bought a New F&R Switch to have for Backup. If we cant straighten the Current F&R Switch out I think its tome to Put it in. I'm Going to buy some new Battery Cables and get the Roof Fixed but for now I took it off. Well see How it runs Friday on Full Charge. By the way if your wondering why I'm not in School I'm on February Vacation.
Thanks Guys for all the Support, I Guess asking 50,000 Questions pays off in the End. Thanks Guys, Matt |

Re: All Lights Green
Hi Matt,
How is it working out ?? Must agree with JB that you have got the thing rolling under its own steam by perseverance. Without being negative to your tenacity, under volting the motor may lead to overheating problems in the long term. Up to you, but if it does what you want.....No probs. Regards. |
