slow ezgo cart
sorry I was on Yamaha forum with my first post. I have what I believe is a 1994 ezgo marathon. serial #793028 code 01194 I will try to add pictures. my problem is it slows way down on slight incline. Just put new batteries in it. No help.

those battery cables look connected wrong, i think the motor system is not getting 36v. check the last two cables that dont connect to 2 batteries, but go from one battery to the cart wiring for 36v. also check charge plug for 36v. if you are running it or charging with 1 or more batteries hooked up wrong, you are killing your batteries. i would not run or charge it until you find a diagram (available on this site) and make sure your cables are right.

Buffy, the guys are right.....you MAY have your batteries connected wrong. although we can't see all 6 of your batteries, according to the way they should have been installed per the diagram, at least 2 of the batteries are installed opposite of the way they were intended to go.

I agree with everyone else, double and triple check your wiring! Follow CTD's diagram...

Thanks for the replys. I will also go with a larger wire, but I bought some #4 single house wire. Can this be used?

nope .. use #4 or #2 welding cable they have the multi wires inside to conduct the electricity better

them older marathons never climbed hills that great, does it hit top speed on flat ground? Are all of the connections tight? plus from the looks of it the cables you have are plenty big enough for it as long as they aren't bad I wouldn't replace them.
