Default G29 solenoid wiring puzzle

I went to replace my solenoid with a heavy duty one and I was confused when I discovered how my existing one is wired. It is currently working fine, and the wiring has not been touched since I purchased the cart in 2009. Clearly the previous owner made some wiring changes because what is there is obviously not stock.

There are 2 things that I don’t understand:

1: There are 3 wires (in addition to the 2 heavy cables). The orange arrow in the attached photo points to a small wire that is connected to one of the high current terminals.

2: The blue arrow points to a wire that has been abandoned. It can’t been seen in the photo, but this wire (that is attached to one of the small posts) has been cut and is only about 1 inch long and does not attach to anything else.

Can anybody explain these mystery wires?

TJ

Leave the one with the orange arrow. It gives power to the controller without the solenoid being engaged.
Blue arrow probably ran a gps system or something at the golf course.
What's your reason for changing the solenoid?

I'm swapping out the stock controller for the new 500 amp XCT.

Ezgo used the same connection point for their TXT. Remember use no resistor on the solenoid with the XCT.
