G29 flooded
A cart I sold to a customer in Columbia SC was partially flooded. The motor was flooded halfway up and we drained quite a bit of water out. The diff seems ok but we'll service that anyway. The computer, electrical and batteries did not get wet but the pedal sensors did. The charger was plugged in at the time and did some wild things to the circuit board that I've never seen before, it's now in the trash.
I'm guessing the motor brushes are toast but wonder about other things. Any suggestions? Dennis |

Re: G29 flooded
Throttle sensor is "non contact" type, & is filled with goop, might still be good (but is it worth risking the controller over). The motor needs to be removed, cleaned & dried. How long has cart been out of the water?

Re: G29 flooded
It was flooded three weeks ago, in the water for two days and we drained the motor three days later. been dry ever since. seems to run fine but motor is making sound like brush chatter.

Re: G29 flooded
I would disassemble the motor and Throttle sensor and clean them. Lube motor bearings. Check that controller was not flooded. Brush holders tend to rust and stick causing motor failure. Also make sure that the rear end does not have any water in the oil. If so, drain and refill with fresh gear oil of the proper type.
