Default New g29 questions

Picked up a 2008 g29. Has 4 12v interstate batteries that are 8 months old.

Apparently it got struck by lighting in 2015 when charging so he replaced the controller and motor.

Took it for a spin around my neighborhood today, only goes 10mph on flat ground. And has a wistleling noise when cruising.

Here's picture of the motor.

Was hoping it went as fast as my 15 Yamaha gas went (15mph).

Also, what do I disconnect to get rid of the back up alarm?

You say it has 4 12V batteries (48V) but that motor says 36V. I guess one of those batteries is just for 12V accessories? Or is the 36V motor getting pushed with 48 volts?

Not sure where the controller is? Was told it's a 48v golf cart. I don't know much about golf carts...

The controller and solenoid will be behind the access panel in the golf bag well on the rear of the cart. It is the one that has Yamaha on it. Also the motor says 36v but I have seen many times these run at 48v.

Can't see the nameplate but that doesn't look like a Yamaha motor. Maybe an aftermarket motor. I would be surprised to see a 36V motor in a sepex 48V system.
