My Yamaha G16e recently stopped working. It will not move and does not click when the pedal is pressed. Please help me troubleshoot.

Re: 1997 Yamaha G16E
First we need to make sure your batteries are ok. How old are they and can you perform a load test on them?

Re: 1997 Yamaha G16E
The batteries are 4 years old and when I plug in the charger nothing happens either, it will not come on. How do I perform a load test? Sorry new at this.

Re: 1997 Yamaha G16E
Take your volt meter & check the voltage in each battery, report back with voltages. No voltmeter? That's a problem you will have to fix.

Re: 1997 Yamaha G16E
you're batteries are toast.
You could try using a 12 volt battery charger on each battery for like a half hour on each, and then see if they will come back. Chances are they are gone. |

Re: 1997 Yamaha G16E
Shouldn't the battery charger for the cart come on even if the batteries are toast? Right now the charger won't even kick on.

Re: 1997 Yamaha G16E
All automatic battery chargers have a minimum voltage they must see to enable "automatic operation", they must sense that the batteries that are connected are likely to be the correct type & voltage. Yours are way too low.

+1
Yea, way to low to kick the charger on. 4 year old batts are near the end of normal life + When left get that low, doubt there's much life left New battery time. |
