Re: still no spark???????
I just went through the same process you did. I ended up replacing what I think is called an igniter inside the fly wheel. you need to remove the flywheel. while the flywheel is off try sanding the contact that is on the flywheel see if that fixes the problem if now then you need to replace the igniter behind the flywheel. good luck.

Is the ignition system unplugged from the carts grounding circuit?

Re: still no spark???????
Sorry, not those grounds.
The cart has a kill circuit that shorts the motors ignition to ground when the pedal is released to kill the spark like a lawn mower. It is tied in above the drain plug where the rev limiter and igniter are mounted. Unplug the kill wire(s) from the motor and just leave the one wire that connects the coil at the flywheel to the igniter together. The igniter must be bolted or grounded to the engine to work. If you have spark then the kill circuit is the problem either the lower micro is bad and staying closed or a short in the kill wire itself. If you have a new coil and igniter and they are connected and nothing else it will fire or one of them is bad or you have a short in the wire between the two. |
