Default 1994 cart Quits, wont run

Ok i dont know much about golf carts.
This golf cart says AG94, so im assuming its 1994
The engine says Club Car OHV.

This happened once last year- we were riding for a while, all of sudden it just quits. We tow it home, let it sit for a night, and then it works fine.
This winter I was riding through some puddles (probably shouldnt have, and it quits).......Now recently after 10 minute rides it does it. What i mean by "quits" is only the small belt spins, and it never movies. If i let it sit for 15-20 mins, i can make it home. We have checked the spark plug, and it looks fine.

I NEED THIS THREAD MOVED TO CLUB CAR GAS, PLEASE, THANKS!

Listen carefully .. When it starts can you hear the solenoid start....When it quits do you hear the solenoid click?

I would lean toward the ignition coil under the flywheel shroud getting hot and breaking down.
Anyway, before you buy anything you need to determine if it is the cart or engine with the issue.
Test one: Carry a spare spark plug with you, when it stops, pull the plug wire and install the spare. ground it and step on pedal, does the plug fire?
If it does you have a fuel related issue but I doubt it.
If no fire, test two:
Look in lower front of the engine block and disconnect the black kill wire that comes from the carts kill circuit in the electrical harness.
This will tell you if your problem is in the cart or engine.
If it starts you have an intermittent ground issue, if not you have a break down in your rev limiter, ignitor or coil, or a shorting wire between the coil and ignitor.
The reason I think the coil is you state it fires back up after it sits (cools down)

Keep in mind also all of this testing is done while the cart is hot and not restarting.
