92 Club Car smokes after warm
New to golf carts, but definetly not engines. This rig doesn't smoke a lick for about 15mins of straight running. Doubt if you was playing golf off of it you'd ever even notice. But after about 15mins it starts smoking some. I'm guessing valve seals, but could it be something else? Thanks.

Could be rings or valve seals.. Have you done a compression test?

Re: 92 Club Car smokes after warm
Nawww haven't yet, just got it yesterday. Bought it cheap enough I didn't care. It starts and runs great but it's blowing a little oil out somewhere, which doesn't bother me cause it's a very small amount, and the smoking thing.

Re: 92 Club Car smokes after warm
Usually smoke on start up is seals, smoke after getting warm is stuck oil ring or overfill.
Before you teardown change the oil, make sure you put the correct amount back in it (not by dipstick). High oil level will cause smoke. |
