Default Installed stereo on G16, ran for a sec and now no power, no lights, no ignition, etc

Hello, first time posting here.

Anyways, I installed a stereo on my 1997 G16A and connected the (+) and (-) wires to battery terminals. Stereo worked fine, turned cart ignition on and pressed down gas, ran for literally 1 sec, and everything suddenly shut off.

I have no power to the cart, no lights, horn, ignition etc. However, the reverse horn/buzzer still works. Radio is working again, but should not have been affected since it was wired directly to battery terminals. Not sure why it powered down when I pressed on accelerator.

Fuse is still good. It is rated at 25 amps. Is it possible it blew something else since it was rated at 25 amps? If so, what could it possibly be? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!

A possible explanation could be dirty or corroded battery connections. The high current drawn by the starter would heat up any poor connection possibly causing it to open up. Another explanation could be that you have a bad cell in your battery. Again, the high current could cause heating internally with "funny" things happening. Good luck - RAY

I've had huge issues with the posts and clamps. I've cleaned them and looked clean still had issues. New battery now and its been ok but I plan to buy new cables soon as I have time to remove and measure them.
