Yep, fix that input shaft bearing before the whole thing is ruined (or not, its only about $1600 for a new axle).

I just bought the out side bearing , oil seal , gasket total $65 should fix the noise in the input shaft

My 2011 muffler rattled like crazy, so purchased a performance exhaust from Plowmans (about 4 months ago) and the noise was gone. However, just last weekend the noise returned. I'm hoping it's bad gasoline, but will remove the muffler to inspect welds.

also, check the motor mounts, they go week, and will sound like a clanking,, just add a couple washers, or grind down the spacer;; steve, oh yea, grab the valve cover and wiggle,, if thay are loose you will know'

The mount for the starter generator is known for the weld breaking which can sound like spinning a bicycle tire and let a playing card slap the spokes.

just bought 2016 G29, have been driving 1998 ezgo txt, the yamaha is a much rougher sounding engine, is this normal?

It has been my experience that the Yamaha, being a relatively large bore single cylinder (thumper in the motorcycle world), tends to be louder than the EZ-Go twin cylinder. Of course, then EZ-Go went to the Kawi engine and I've no experience with that one.
