Re: CLUB CAR Sticker Removal Carry all 1
2 ways...
First, you could use some paint stripper... furniture stripper, aircraft stripper, whatever you've got. Put it on, let it do its thing and blast it with a pressure washer. Theyll peel right off. Other method that works is 400 grit and a DA sander. Either way, you're gonna have a lot of cleaning and polishing to do. The aluminum will look brand new under the stickers vs. The oxidized stuff everywhere else. |

Use a heat gun to make peeling the sticker possible. Don't over heat & scorch, just enough to soften the adhesive. A hard plastic scraper will help a lot to keep you from marking up the aluminum under the sticker.
Use adhesive remover puddled on the remaining sticker glue with the area horizontal so that the remover stays puddled and make sure to keep transitioning fresh areas of remover sopped rags onto the glue to be removed. The rags load up with glue/goop and wont scrub any additional off the surface until a fresh portion is used. Do all this OUTSIDE, and make sure you have soapy water to rinse the remover off your skin periodicly. Removing the bed, and/or the tail gate to keep the work areas horizontal so that you can keep the remover puddled and make it so that you can succeed. It's a crappy job, but possible if you are persistant. Be careful about what you use on the aluminum so that it doesn't get white/chalky due to over acidity. Citrus sticker removers should be safe, but make sure you rinse copiously after work periods. |

use a heat gun on the vinyl but use WD- 40 on the remaining glue so you don't screw up the aluminum.
