Planet Earth 120v cart, thinking of replacing with 48v
I just picked up a Planet Electric cart. It has a 120 volt system using a Curtis 1221c-7402 and as best as I can find out a 12hp motor. The cart is supposed to have about a 50mph top speed.
It has a four link rear end and a double wishbone front suspension. Four wheel hydraulic disc brakes. I bought it needing batteries. It uses 40 batteries in banks of 10. I really don't want to replace the 40 small batteries and am thinking about going with a 48 volt (or even 36v) system so I'll have a system that is a bit more conventional. I'm open to any suggestions on which way to go here. Also, if I sell the controller/motor combo, what should be a reasonable price to expect?, Thanks. |
