Drive Clutch stuck
Afternoon everyone,
Working on my TXT, just replaced the valves in it and gave the engine a good cleaning, put it back in and now I can't get the drive clutch to expand out (i.e. when you start moving the drive clutch moves in and then goes back out when you are stopped). So now the driven clutch is expanded out and the drive clutch is stuck closed. Did I tighten the drive clutch too much?? As a side note, now when I hit the gas, the engine is wide open, as if I lost the governor somewhere. Or maybe my mind, not sure which...As usual, any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks, -CK |

Re: Drive Clutch stuck
Pull the drive belt off and see if you can move the movable side of the drive clutch in and out.
Check your carb throttle to see if it is closing when off of the pedal, if not check the throttle plate for movement and then follow the cable(s) back through the gov to the pedal. It's hung somewhere. Check the carb to see if the throttle plate (butterfly) is still there and or not loose and jammed open. |
