Default 84 cc gas flywheel nut

How tight should the nut on the flywheel shaft be? If I loosen it enough for the flywheel (engine) to turn over, the nut is fairly loose. If I tighten it to where I think it should be, the flywheel (engine) won't budge.

Not sure about a 84 but on my 92 it is 60-65 ft lbs and I would guess a 84 would be very close or the same. The flywheel is on a tapered shaft. It shouldnt over tighten unless there is something wrong with the flywheel or something put together wrong on the engine. How did this problem start?

Had to take the flywheel off to install new exciter coil.

I would say you have something out of place under the flywheel causing the binding issue. Double check the coil you replaced, might be bigger than the old one.
Maybe remove it and try the flywheel fitment without it. It should spin freely with the proper torque applied.

I figured it out. I put the new exciter coil small outside pickup (white wire) on backwards, thus jamming the flywheel against it when I tightened the nut. Dumb me for not paying closer attention to how the old one came off. Thanks for all of your responses.
