gas problem
I have a 2001 gas club car. it will run for about two minutes and run out of gas. i have replaced the fuel pump and fuel lines. after it sits for a little bit, it will start up and run for about two minutes. what is wrong with it....

Check the line from the engine block to the fuel pump, it should be up hill all the way with no droops or low places leaving the block. Also check the vent in the gas cap and make sure it's open. Some one else will be along with more ideas.

Also check the vent line. There is a line from the top of tank that runs under to nothing. If this gets plugged, it puts a vacuum on the tank and stops or slows the flow of gas. Easy to check. It has like a little filter in the end of it. It gets packed with dirt. You can also loosen the gas cap and see if it runs. Just throwing out another possibility.

are you saying its running out of gas because you see empty fuel filters? for the heck of it if you havn,t the next time it won,t start check it for spark........................

The fuel filters are empty, I can hold the choke in and get it to run a little.

ok than you might want to take the carb off and tear it down..........go over everything and you a compressor to blow ports and jets out, take your time..........you can also run some carb cleaner thur the fuel pump and clean that also..................

I did get my club car running today, thanks for all the info...
I was wanting to know if there is a way to make it go a little faster with out hurting the engine... |
