1984 ezgo rebuild
i am rebuilding a 2pg motor and i have a question about the piston. On the piston there is a notched out square on one side of the piston does this notch need to face the exhaust hole on the jug. appreciate the help

The holes/ports in the piston skirt should face the carburetor/reed valves.
