1996 easy go txt wont move

sorry its a 1996 easy go txt the solenoid clicks,battery voltage 38.5 . voltage 38.5 both sides of solenoid with switch off. unhooked motor wire and controller wire and resistor from one side solenoid . ohmed across it was open turned on switch hit gas solenoid closed.any help. Also I was driving it yesterday when it quit working

Does it have a series drive or a DCS?

the forward and reverse switch looks like dcs has the big metal cover over it and the handle looks like that also

If it also has a Run/Tow switch on the controller cover, it is a DCS (Sepex motor).

When the key is ON and a direction (F or R) selected, does the solenoid click when you push the pedal?

If it doesn't, problem is in the solenoid activation circuit.
If it does, the problem is in the high current circuit.

Need to confirm the existence or not of the Run/Tow to troubleshoot further.

it has tow /run on the controller, yes with key on press pedal solenoid clicks,

checked volts to solenoid have 38v on both sides of solenoid all time. removed wire to controller and motor and resistor or what ever it is from that one side. then read 38v from battery to one side and 0 to side with no wires. turned on key mashed gas 38v on side with no wires so solenoid should be good

Okay, you have a 1996 TXT DCS.
Attached drawing is a schematic for the drive system and the attached PDF is a service manual that covers it.

The solenoid is clicking, so there is a high current issue.

Lift rear tires off ground and place on jackstands so the half ton cart doesn't take off unexpectedly and run over someone or something.

Connect your voltmeter between the B- and A1 terminals on the controller (A1 terminal is labeled M- on some controllers)

Press pedal just far enough for solenoid to click. You should measure FULL pack voltage.

If not, check the heavy cables that connect the battery pack to the controller and to the motor for bad connections or defective cables.
Problem is a bad cable/connection or bad motor.

If so, push the pedal to floor and the voltage should decrease to zero.
If not, check throttle input signal to controller.
Problem is bad throttle or bad controller.

If the controller is bad, do not replace it with a DCS controller (Curtis 1206SX), they don't have any under-voltage protection and have a high failure rate.
Replace it with an Alltrax DCX400 (or larger), which is Plug-n-Play.
