Where did you install your controller?
I ordered ScottyB's #444 package (700 amp FSIP(GE) Controller) I would assume this larger amp controller is bigger than my stock 250 amp controller.
Where did you install you controller as I am sure it will not bolt in where my stock controller is currently located, or will it? Any lessons learned from installation that I might learn from and not repeat? I am not the brightest with electronics and so far ScottyB has been very patient and helpful in his tech support services. Installing into my 48V 97 CC DS, 36 volt Bandit from PQ, rear axle gear change to 6:1 gears, and with ScottyB 2g cables, HD F/R and 400amp solenoid. Thanks, OC Last edited by oconnorb; 03-01-2015 at 09:29 AM.. Reason: spelling |

Re: Where did you install your controller?
mine bolted up in the original location. I did however use bolts though the battery compartment and used nuts on the controller side. made it easier then trying to put a bolt in and hold the controller in place

Re: Where did you install your controller?
He has a 1997 DS, which doesn't have the controller heatsink plate. His mounts horizontally rather than vertically

Re: Where did you install your controller?
Original controller mounts in back horizontal, I remove the rear inspection cover and there it is, bolted in with four bolts. My assumption is that it is bigger and I will have to generate "extension" bracket or plate to mount new controller to plate and have plate bolt to original location.

The 700a FSIP control is a big boy. The base is approx. 9x6 inches

Re: Where did you install your controller?
The DS with current set up of PQ Bandit (36v) motor in a 48v cart, gear ratio and all other items stock does in the mid 30's for speed although the torque is not "head snapping". Once all items are installed and hopefully working, first time out, I will post results. I have email conversation going with PQ to validate the max amps the motor can take prior to setting out, would hate to fry motor a mile from the house. Plus I have to purchase new batteries, the set is five years old and sat for ten months while I was on deployment, they dont have the distance they had prior to deployment.

Re: Where did you install your controller?
PQ stated not to exceed 500 amps and no hard running for long periods, so I will set controller to 500 and adhere to posted speed limits, although IAW LSV requirements, the cart is not to exceed 25mph....
