Default Rumbling in rear of cart

I've a 94, 36volt, cart with new batteries. There is an intermittent noise (rumbling) from the rear end.

When I jacked it off the ground, the noise was louder and constant.

The local golf cart dealer hadn't heard such a loud noise before and thought it might be the input shaft of the motor or the transaxle.

I've removed the motor and don't see anything unusual...but have never looked at one before...the bearing on the end of the shaft looks "ok" to me...the bushings have over an inch of "wear" left.

Has anyone had this sort of problem before?

I'm not sure where to go from here...please help/advise...thanks in advance.

It may be the guide ring. Here's a link to what it looks like: http://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/#!...tor-guide-ring

Sir:
Thanks for the reply...after tearing it all down and inspection motor, transaxle, etc...it looks like it's the brakes.
They were "sticking" and once I ran the cart (everything put back together) with the wheels and brake drums off the noise disappeared.
I just need to read/learn how to adjust the brakes now that I've got them cleaned and free...
I'm surprised the dealer didn't suggest it...?
I'm just a "newbie" learning from mistakes

It is important to make sure the sliders on the backing plate are moving freely.

Above is Andy's write up for the manual adjusting CC brakes. Buy yourself a tube of Sil-Glyde brake lubricant at a local auto parts place and like mrgolf said, make SURE the sliders can move freely.
