The cable insulation is what makes it possible to pass through the hole, snug fit, cost more but isn't a bad idea and has been done plenty of times. I would remove the OBC to install the connector If you're going to solder it.

No need to remove the obc to solder. Just put one end on, then pass through the obc. Pull cable to the outside of cart and solder on end. I ve done this or all five carts that I changed cables on with no problem. (Very exprenced)

Yea but your an Ol fart most of use aren't as experienced LOL

I got mine through also. Used a little lube and it went right through.
