Voltage reducer location
I am looking at installing a voltage reducer on my club cart precedent. I have the 4 12v battery setup and don't have any room in the battery compartment for a reducer. Where are you guys installing these? Also is it possible to run my radio and underbody leds off one reducer?

Re: Voltage reducer location
There is an area between the battery pack and the rear axle that you can put the reducer...might be easier from under the cart...the radio and under lights don't draw very many amps so unless you bought a real small amp reducer you should be fine.

Re: Voltage reducer location
The factory location on a Precedent for the Voltage converter is on the Front Firewall.
There are even holes already in place You can use. The voltage converters do get hot, the better ones not as much as the cheap ones. Make sure You get at least a 20amp reducer to make sure it has the more efficient electronics. Also look for the ones with a low current "trigger wire" that can be connected to the key switch. If You are installing a radio, get a converter with a constant +12v output to make it easier and give you more options for the radio. |

Re: Voltage reducer location
Is it necessary to put a switch between the battery pack and reducer? Also is they're any wiring diagrams for installing and wiring multiple accessories?

Re: Voltage reducer location
The good reducers have a fifth wire that you connect to the switch to turn it on / off. You should fuse both the 48V and 12V sides.
